Faculty Meetings records

Scope and Contents

The collection is composed of minutes from the Faculty Meetings, either handwritten in bound notebooks, or typed. The typed minutes from the 1928 through the 1934 meetings have two copies -- one copy is bound, the other is not. The unbound copies are organized in folders. The minutes span from September 1901 until September 1968.

James Lee Fisher records

Abstract

James Lee Fisher was president of Towson State College/Towson State University from 1969-1978. These records which date from 1969-1979 are composed of correspondence, various school reports, documents filed according to subjects created by the originator -- either Fisher or his assistants, transcripts of speeches and radio broadcasts, articles and publications authored by Fisher, and photographs.

This collection contains materials dating from approximately 1910 through the 1960s belonging to Elizabeth, Laura, and Hannah Hanway (all Maryland State Normal School (MSNS) alumni) including elementary school through university notebooks and assignments, later alumni materials, and a scrapbook from Hannah's time at MSNS.

Earle Taylor Hawkins was the eighth president of Towson University from 1947 to 1969. The collection consists of documents concerning and kept by Dr. Earle Taylor Hawkins. They are papers of a personal nature that do not relate to his work at Towson State Teachers College. The collection consists of correspondence, honors, awards, speeches, event programs, and other activities that Dr. Hawkins was involved with both professionally and privately.

Dr. Earle Taylor Hawkins was President of the State Teacher's College at Towson (and then Towson State College) from 1947 to 1969. These records which date from 1920 to 1972 are composed of correspondence both to and from Hawkins, reports, newsletters, and committee notes, notes and transcriptions for speeches and radio programs, various awards and honors given to Hawkins, conference material, personal items, and documents related to organizations outside Towson to which Hawkins belonged.

Abstract The Lida Lee Tall School (originally named The Model School) was primarily used as a campus demonstration elementary to help train teachers in the Maryland State Normal School. Abstract Louis Rosenthal was born in Plungyon, Lithuania on February 20, 1888, and was the sixth child of seven children of Rebecca and Hyman Chatel.
